Pure Potions skin salvation Intensive Moisturising Ointment and Intensive Hand Cream

Hello Everyone and welcome back to my blog.

Today i am reviewing two products that were kindly sent to me Pure Potions. The 2 items sent were from their skin salvaltions range as i explained to them that i suffer from quite difficultly managed eczema.

Pure Potions Kindly sent me their intensive moisturising ointment and the intensive hand cream.

i started using the intensive hand cream first as it seem to make more sense for during the day. i Always worry about using new skin products as my eczema is so sensitive and reacts at the mildest of creams. But as soon as I put the hand cream on my skin felt instantly relieved which I was shocked about. I was quite optimistic about using it now and I set my self a target of 7 days to give it a chance to work. And by day 3/4 you could hardly tell I had eczema anymore. I was using the hand cream along side the intensive moisturising ointment at night which I will now move on to in my review.

As I said before I'm quite skeptical about new skin creams and ointments but I can honestly say I am so impressed by the results of the ointment. I limited myself to using only overnight so I could give it the overnight time to moisturise and soften my skin. At first I will be honest I thought it was slightly greasy but once it had soaked in a bit the ointment felt just like a normal cream and wasn't too heavy.
When I woke up in the morning my skin was impressively soft and there was a dry patch in sight.

Overall i am thoughly impressed by both products as will certainly be prepared to purchase them in the future, As I work in a hospital I find constant hand washing is the only down side so having the hand cream available in a small size was really handy to keep in my pocket to use as required after washing my hands a few times.

I once again want to thank pure potions for allowing me to try these two products and will be willing to try any Future products they may have in the future.

Munchy seeds

Hello and welcome back to my blog.

I was kindly sent some lovely goodies from munchy seeds a few weeks back its just taken a while to get it write up.

The lovely people sent me the following:
2 packs of super sprinkles
A pack of omega sprinkles
A pack  of honey sprinkles
A pack of chilli sprinkles
A pack of choccy gingers
A pack of chocolate apricot
A pack of roasted sprinkles
And a full size tub of crunchy bites

So far I've try the chilli sprinkles, the roasted sprinkles and the chocolate apricots. I found these really tasty especially the chilli ones which weren't overly spicy as I'm not keen on spicy food. They filled me up quite nicely and were handy to put in my hand bag for the train I was on. I also enjoyed the choccy apricots as I'd never tried anything like this before and they gave me boost after doing some exercise.

The honey sprinkles I actually gave away due to having a serious honey allergy.
I'm really looking forward to trying the rest of the goodies that were sent to me over the next coming weeks.

Thank you once again to munchy seeds for sending me these lovely treats.

Thanks for reading guys

pulsin and beond bar review

Beond and pulsin review

Hello girls and guys

Just a quick review on a company I wrote to called pulsin and beond. They are a company that make natural snack and protein bars. From what I have read they are a fairly new company but also I've never seen them in any of the local health food shops. Here is an extract that's been taken from the pulsin and beond website.

About Pulsin'

At Pulsin' we make natural protein bars, protein powders and healthy treats that are as good for you as they taste. Packed full of natural ingredients and organic goodness, our products are free from nasties, high in protein and low GI, making them perfect for the whole family.

Our dream is to...

  • Give people superpower through health-boosting energy foods
  • Make incredible-tastingproducts that don't cost the earth
  • Lead the pack when it comes to product development
  • Contribute to a happy, healthy world filled with happy, healthy people

Our products

We use only the most high-quality natural ingredients, never compromise on taste, and never add anything artificial (including GM ingredients). Our range of natural protein bars, plant-based protein powders and healthy treats are dedicatedly designed to:

  • Give you sustained energy release
  • Strengthen your immune system
  • Make you feel fuller for longer
  • Support healthy body function
  • Boost your brainpower
  • Enrich your life

We use a lot of protein. Why you might ask?
Well, your body needs protein nearly as much as your lungs need air. Protein is essential for healthy body function, strong muscles, healthy skin, nails and hair.

Athletes often use protein to build muscle mass and to power their workouts.
Protein is also needed to keep your immune system functioning at full throttle and to fight off infection, which is why it's often used as a supplement to support people recovering from illness.

Adding protein to your diet also helps balance out blood sugar levels, helping you avoid those horrible mid-afternoon slumps. And, as if that wasn't enough, protein can also help support a weight-loss diet as it helps the body burn fat and can stave off hunger pangs between meals.

Our products are especially great for:

  • Sports people looking for a pre- or post-exercise boost
  • People watching their weightand looking to burn fat without losing muscle
  • Children who are hungry between meals
  • Busy mums on the go needing a natural energy lift
  • Anyone recovering from illness
They were very quick at sending the bars out to me after I emailed them.

I received 3 different flavour bars: the beond organic açai berry flavour, the  pulsin almond and raisin raw choc brownie and the pulsin mint choc chip protein bar.

The first bar I tried was the açai berry bar. I wasn't looking forward to trying it as its main ingredient was dates and I'm not keen on them. I opened the packet and was hit by the really fruity smell which was actually quite nice :)

I took one bite of it but really wasn't all that keen on it but I'm not sure if that was the fruity taste or the texture of it, i left that bar after one bite.

The next bar I tried was the almond and raisin raw choc brownie.

This bar was completely different to the first bar, it was much more dense and had an amazing taste to it.even though it contained dates you couldn't taste then in this bar. It actually tasted like a proper chocolate brownie that you would get in a supermarket or bakery. The almonds in it gave it the most amazing crunch added extra flavour. This was definitely better than the first one.

The final bar was the mint choc chop protein bar. It was smaller than the other two bars at only 25g. I was instantly hit by the minty smell.

This bar was more like a fudge consistency. It was really yummy and the cereal bits in the bar made it taste even better. I didn't finish off any of the bars at the time of the review but I can definitely say that my favourite was the almond and raisin brownie and I'm definitely considering buying this one again if I can find it in health food shops.

Here is the link for the pulsin website Check it out and contact them and see if you can try their products.

Bubble tea review

Hello girls and guys
My blog post this morning is a review on a product that i received in the March pink parcel.

The company is called BubbleT cosmetics and they specialise in bath and body products. Here's a bit of information from the BubbleT cosmetics website.

"We have been inspired by the taiwanese drink invented during the 1980’s. It is advertised across asia as a colourful and vibrant drink, catching your attention from first glance.

The idea for introducing the concept into a bath and body range came as we returned from a trip to asia to notice the opening of many bubble tea stores across vibrant parts of the UK’s city centres such as London’s West End and across Manchester.

The concept of the drink is simple – it is a tea base blended with a fruit of choice. However, what distinguishes the drink is the tapioca balls that lay at the bottom. This ingredient adds the unusual wow factor to the drink.

We work to the philosophy that our products should not just look and smell good but should leave you feeling good too.

Working alongside industry experts, we have crafted and blended a divine combination of rich tea based infusions, mixed with fruit essence and extracts.

The properties of tea are well known across the globe. Different teas can provide benefits in different ways such as aiding sleep, speeding up blood circulation and even waking you up!

Our extensive research has helped us to combine different benefits offered by tea as an ingredient in toiletries to create a range which replenishes, cleanses and hydrates your skin as well as provide a long lasting fresh smell.

Tea is something which is a part of many different cultures. The British and Chinese are two prime examples of how such a simple ingredient can become a lifelong obsession.

There are a multitude of tea companies who have revolutionised the way we enjoy tea with their incredibly extensive and fragrant tea combinations, ranging from spices to fruits. This has created an increased awareness of different tea leaves, blends and infusions.

There are many acknowledged properties and benefits gained from drinking tea which is another reason for its strong following.

The bubble tea craze has progressively increased since the 1980’s and has branched out all across China, Europe, North America and The Middle East."

I received two pink parcel boxes for March by mistake to I got two different products from this company. In my first box I received the hibiscus and açai berry tea restoring hand cream.

The bottle is a full size product at 100ml the RRP is £5.

I am a sufferer from quite bad eczema and was apprehensive about trying this as most flavoured skin care product make my skin flare up instantly, but as I work at my local hospital I'm constantly washing my hands which leaves my skin dry and sore so I took this to work with me and tried it after washing my hands. I was amazed that my skin didn't flare up and it left my hands feeling soft and revitalised. They were also left smelling amazing as the cream has this most amazing scent to it.

I don't have any negative points this cream apart from when the bottle gets near the end I can see it been difficult to get out but I suppose giving it a good shake will hopefully dislodge any cream that's stuck at the end.

The second product I received in my second box was the Moroccan mint tea reviving fizzy bath bombs.

This again is a full size product and contains 7 x 8g bath bombs and the RRP is £6

Again like before I was worried about trying them because of my eczema but once again I was presently surprised by the lack of reaction.
I put one in my bath and let it fizz up and it made my bath smell amazing and fresh, I was expecting it to sting when I got in the bath but it was absolutely fine.

When I got out the bath my skin felt revived and moisturised and I was super impressed. Once again I have no negative points about this product.

Finally I'm so pleased that I got to try out these BubbleT  products. All the products are not tested on animals and are paraben, SLS & SLES free. I certainly cannot fault this company. I've linked the website below so you can check it out for yourself!

New CID nail polish review-colour crepe suzette

Hello and happy Sunday to you all.
Meant believe we're in may already it's mad.
Today I'm going to be doing a review post on a nail polish that I got when I bought this months Cosmo magazine.

The nail polish is by a company called new CID cosmetics and the colour is called crepe suzette. The RRP for this polish is £12.

I painted my toes with this last Thursday so the 23rd April and its held out really well and only now started to chip so it's definitely held out on its 7 day promise.
I really like the colour of it as its a really nice and bright summery colour. It looks quite like a red on my nails but in the bottle it looks like a coral pink.

The only downside to this polish in my opinion is that it took a while to dry as its quite watery so you need to allow time to to wait around for it to dry. Apart from that I really enjoyed trying it out.

Can I add that I've not been paid to review this product.

Operation day

Hi everyone if you read my last blog post you would have seen that yesterday was operation day. Let me take you through the day.

To start with I had to be at the hospital for 7am but we ended up getting there for 6:20 but the doors were locked so me and mum walked into the little town to get a few bits in the spar shop. I picked up a few magazines to keep me entertained while I was waiting even though I took my iPad which is connected to the staff wifi as it was done in the trust I work for.

We took a slow walk back up to the hospital and got back there for around 6:50 and the doors were open, by this point I was teasy because I was thirsty but also desperate for the toilet. I was nil by mouth from midnight but could drink clear fluids until 630. We went in to the hospital and I dashed for a wee jaha and my mum booked me in. I was greeted along side another lady who was also having another type of operation by the theatre practitioner who was lovely she took me and the other lady in and seated us in separate bays.

I was told I was first on the list due to a latex allergy which suited me fine. She went through all my health questions such as about allergies, medication, my teeth, hearing And vision. She was pleased that I was pretty much healthy apart from some allergies. She put 2 hospital bands on. One one right arm and one on my left ankle.

Here's a picture of my band on my arm
She the asked me to go and get changed into a hospital gown, my dressing gown and my slippers. She then escorted me into another room where there was other ladies waiting for surgery as well. In turn we were all called to meet our anaesthetist, I could not fault my anaesthetist one bit he put my mind at rest by going through the anaesthetic options with me he said he would put a nerve block in my arm which I ideally needed to be awake for so I could feel if the needle was touch the right places. He suggested that it could be done under sedation which I chose and the main surgery would be done under general anaesthetic which was what I wanted. Not long after I met the anaesthetist I seen my surgeon who is amazing. Up till yesterday he wasn't sure what he was going to do as he had two options we mutually decided that the trapeziectomy with tendon arthroscopy would be the most beneficial to me. I signed and got a copy and of the consent form and went back into the room with all my stuff. Not long after the nurse came in with a cup of water saying I could now have clear fluids until 10am as he was going to move me to last on his list so he could get his little minor surgeries done first. I wasn't bothered I was just really grateful for the drink. The nurse told me I could  change back in to my pjs and I had bought a new set of pjs to go into hospital which were minions.

The bottoms are also minions

And I had my panda slippers but I didn't take a picture of them. The morning went on and watched some videos on YouTube catching up on my subscriptions on there. The nurse told my mum that i wasn't going down until after lunch so she went and go the bus in the town about 20 minutes down the road. At about 115 the nurse came In asked me to get changed for theatre again so back into the gown and dressing gown again

Then the porter and nurse both checked my ID bands against my notes and the porter walked me around to theatre and handed me over to another lovely nurse. Who checked who I was again and took me into where the anaesthetist was. He then also checked my id bands against the notes. They went through the who checklist then the nurse attached me to the monitors such as the blood pressure machine and the pulseometer and took my temperature. The anaesthetist the put a tourniquet around my arm to access my veins as a platelets donor my Venus access is brilliant so he had no problems getting a cannula in place. He tested that it was working with some saline before putting in the sedation drug. That made my head go all woozy and the sho came in the help with the nerve block. They used an ultrasound machine to locate the nerves easier he used a massive needle and electrical pulses to test the nerves. It was the weirdest feeling ever. After he's put the block in and was happy they put a massive tourniquet around the top of my arm so that they can reduce the blood flow so I don't bleed out. He then started putting the anaesthetic in while the nurse was holding my hand and that was the last thing I remember until I woke up 3 hours later. My arm was numb and it still is now. When I was well enough I was taken back around to the main day case unit again. The nurse helped me get dressed into my minions again and he gave me some toast and jam and a carton of ribena. I hate toast but it tasted amazing she did it just right. Another nurse came over with my discharge paperwork and all my information leaflets and sick note for work. She game me my tablets and pain killers and said that I could go when my lift arrived. I couldn't fault any of the staff with the way they looked after me. And here's my poor little arm now for 8 weeks

Sorry for the long winded post

Life catch Up

Good Evening girls and guys

Once again sorry for the lack of posts the last couple of weeks, ive got a bag of freebies that i need to do a video on but that will have be in the morning as its 930 at night and after a long day at work i'm really looking forward to going to sleep haha. ive only got one more day then im off work for 8 weeks as im having a hand operation on friday which i can't wait to finally get sorted after just over 2 years.

Then next week will be hectic as got lots of things going on which im not going to go into on here as they are personal.

so the last week has been super busy as ive had a week off and ive done so much with my time, so starting with monday it was a bank holiday so me and a few friends went out for some food then headed off to the beach close by, its been beautiful weather down here in Cornwall so the shorts came out last week and if you follow me on instagram (@lauren_riley93) youll see how tanned were getting now, so many leg shots on there haha.

this week has also brought hours and hours of fun with mine and Trewens Nephews Jaydan and Pj, weve been to town, weve been to the park twice and took them to have their haircut. These two little boys have kept me going the last 8 months without trewen around. The little one Pj is a spitting image of Trewie when he was little and Jaydan has Trewens kind and relaxed nature, everytime i go to see them they come bounding down the hallway shout for their aunty lolly.

not much else has happened this week to be honest. ill film my freebies video tomorrow and then post that on youtube straight after. I have done a get ready with me tag video on youtube but not uploaded it yet as its 33 minutes long!

ill try and update again in the next few days
